Payment Processing & Billing
Effective Date: July 17, 2026
Last Updated: July 17, 2026
Introduction
Emerald Arbor strives to make purchasing its products and services simple, secure, and transparent.
This policy explains how payments are processed, how billing works, how subscriptions are managed, and what customers can expect when making a purchase.
Scope
This policy applies to Emerald Arbor, LLC and the products and services identified on our Covered Products & Services page, unless a product publishes supplemental or replacement terms.
How Payments Are Processed
Emerald Arbor uses professional payment providers to process purchases.
Paddle currently serves as the Merchant of Record for many Emerald Arbor purchases.
The provider used for a purchase may vary according to the product, location, payment method, or legal requirements and will normally be identified during checkout.
No Additional Merchant-of-Record Fee
Emerald Arbor does not charge customers an additional fee merely because a purchase is processed through a payment provider or Merchant of Record.
The amount shown at checkout may include taxes required by law.
Currency conversion, foreign-transaction fees, or other charges imposed by a financial institution are outside Emerald Arbor’s control.
What a Merchant of Record Does
For an applicable transaction, the Merchant of Record is the legal seller for the payment transaction and may handle:
- Secure payment processing
- Payment authorization
- Tax calculation, collection, and remittance
- VAT, GST, and sales-tax obligations
- Currency and supported payment methods
- Receipts and invoices
- Refund processing
- Fraud and payment compliance
- Certain payment-related support
Our Relationship With You
Although Paddle may serve as Merchant of Record for an applicable transaction, Emerald Arbor remains the owner and operator of the product or service and the primary point of contact for product-related customer support.
Paddle manages the transaction. Emerald Arbor manages the relationship.
Emerald Arbor continues to:
- Deliver purchased products and services
- Provide customer support
- Answer product questions
- Resolve product or technical issues
- Maintain accounts where applicable
- Honor applicable guarantees and refund commitments
- Coordinate with the payment provider when appropriate
Payment authorization, invoices, taxes, currency, payment methods, and charge processing may be handled by the applicable payment provider.
Payment Information
Payment information is processed by the applicable payment provider.
Emerald Arbor may receive information such as:
- Purchaser name
- Email address
- Billing country
- Product purchased
- Purchase amount
- Transaction identifier
- Payment status
- Subscription status
Emerald Arbor generally does not receive or store complete payment-card numbers.
Accepted Payment Methods
Available methods depend on the product, location, currency, and payment provider.
The available options are shown during checkout.
Pricing
Prices and applicable billing terms are shown before purchase.
Prices may change before purchase. Later price changes do not affect a completed purchase unless expressly stated or required by law.
Taxes
Purchases may be subject to sales tax, VAT, GST, or other taxes.
Where a Merchant of Record is used, it may calculate, collect, and remit applicable taxes.
Currency
Prices may be displayed or charged in different currencies.
Exchange rates and bank charges may be determined by the payment provider or financial institution.
Receipts and Invoices
The applicable payment provider generally issues a receipt or invoice after a successful purchase.
Subscriptions and Renewal
Before subscription enrollment, the applicable checkout or order flow will clearly disclose the price, billing interval, automatic-renewal terms, trial conversion terms, cancellation method, material restrictions, and refund terms immediately before the customer agrees.
Customers should receive a confirmation they can retain.
Unless stated otherwise, subscriptions renew automatically until canceled.
Cancellation generally prevents future renewal but does not automatically create a refund for a completed billing period.
Where required, Emerald Arbor or the applicable payment provider will provide renewal, trial-ending, or price-change notices.
Digital Delivery and Withdrawal Information
Where a customer may have a statutory withdrawal right, checkout may request any legally required consent, request for early performance, or acknowledgment associated with immediate digital delivery.
Additional information is available in our Refund Policy.
Failed Payments
If a recurring payment fails, the payment provider may retry the charge.
Depending on the product, failed payment may result in reminders, restricted access, suspension, or cancellation.
Refunds
Refund eligibility is governed by our Refund Policy, applicable product-specific terms, and applicable law.
Approved refunds are generally returned through the original provider and payment method.
Billing Questions
Contact Emerald Arbor promptly if you believe a charge is incorrect, duplicated, or unauthorized.
We may coordinate with the payment provider to investigate and resolve the issue.
Chargebacks
We encourage customers to contact Emerald Arbor before initiating a chargeback or formal dispute.
Nothing in this policy limits a legal right to dispute an unauthorized or improper charge.
Independent Payment Providers
Payment providers operate under their own terms, privacy policies, security standards, and legal obligations.
Additional information is available on our Third-Party Services & Providers page.
International Purchases
Payment methods, currencies, taxes, invoices, and mandatory consumer rights may vary by location.
Mandatory consumer protections remain unaffected.
Product-Specific Terms
Product-specific terms supplement this policy unless they expressly state that they replace a particular provision.
If product-specific terms conflict with this policy, the product-specific terms control only for that product or service and only to the extent of the conflict.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our products, services, payment providers, legal obligations, or business practices.
When appropriate, we will revise the Last Updated date shown at the beginning of this page.
